Election Endorsements: It’s Time to Vote!
You must vote in the general election. Even if you’re not thrilled with the options on the ballot, your vote will ensure that we elect better candidates at the local level, elections which typically come down to dozens or hundreds of votes.
In these elections, your vote could be the deciding factor between a pro-war candidate and an anti-war candidate. It could be the deciding factor between a genocide apologist and a candidate who supports Palestinian human rights.
Please make your vote count.
My personal endorsements written with a SWANA focus for the election are here (San Francisco).
For endorsements from the Arab community, please check out AROC Action (Bay Area).
Find anti-war and anti-genocide candidates to vote for via Vote For Peace (National).
For endorsements from the Muslim community, please check out CAIR Action (National).
Whatever you do - PLEASE VOTE!
POLLING: How Muslim & Arab Americans Will Likely Vote
The Arab American Vote
There are 2.3 million voters who are Arab American. The latest polling from Arab News and YouGov , a nationwide poll conducted September 26 - October 1, found:
45% - Donald Trump (Republican)
43% - Kamala Harris (Democratic)
6% - Undecided
4% - Dr. Jill Stein (Green)
2% - prefer not to say
This latest polling is a huge departure from July polling that ADC National conducted of the Arab American community which had Stein at 45.3% and Trump with only 2% of the vote.
Either the methodology of these polls varied greatly, or a mix of Trump’s engagement of the Arab American community, driven by Tiffany Trump’s Lebanese father-in-law, and/or a desire to punish Harris for the Biden Harris administration’s complicit role in the genocide in Gaza and Israeli invasion of Lebanon have shifted the community over the course of the past few months.
In 2020, 59% of Arab American voters indicated they would vote for Joe Biden, and 35% indicated they would vote for Trump.
The Muslim American Vote
There are estimated to be 2.5 million voters who are Muslim American. The latest polling from CAIR, a nationwide poll conducted October 30-31, finds that almost no Muslim American voters remain undecided.
The breakdown by candidate:
42.3% - Dr. Jill Stein (Green)
41% - Kamala Harris (Democratic)
9.8% - Donald Trump (Republican)
5.4% - Not Voting
In striking contrast, in 2020, 86% of Muslim Americans voted for Biden and only 6% voted for Trump.

Have the Harris Walz Campaign’s Arab & Muslim Community Gaffes Been Intentional?
Last week, the Harris campaign trotted out former President Bill Clinton in Michigan. Overall, Clinton’s appearance did more harm than good with both the Arab and Muslim communities in Michigan. Among Clinton’s sins in this single instance:
Repeating Israeli propaganda talking points justifying massive civilian murder through the inhumane “human shields” argument.
Essentially saying that “they were there first” before Islam existed “the time of King David.” One, It’s important to note that there is no evidence that King David ever existed, and two, that argument does not erase the fact that ancestors of the Palestinians were the indigenous inhabitants of that land, pre-dating all of the monotheistic faiths.
Made misleading claims about the “peace deal” he championed between the Israelis and Palestinians as POTUS - one which would not have let Palestine control its own borders, have its own military, or control its own airspace. But of course, Clinton failed to mention any of that in his grand claims that he solved the crux of the issue and Arafat turned him down.
Clinton is just the latest in a string of questionable surrogates sent to Michigan including Congress Member Ritchie Torres, shill of the Israel Lobby, and war hungry former Congress Member Liz Cheney. The talking points of these surrogates mixed in with the flat out refusal to platform a Palestinian American speaker at the Democratic National Convention in Chicago in August, and Harris’s performative “I’m speaking” moments with Palestinian human rights advocates begs the question – are these gaffes strategic calculations to show such blatant disregard for both the Arab and Muslim communities to win votes from hardcore Zionists, racists, and Islamophobes?

Final Days of the U.S. Presidential Campaign
In a move copying Elon Musk, the Harris campaign targets ads to Jewish and Arab voters using completely different messages on Israel (her support of its “ability to defend itself”) and Gaza (“she will not be silent”).
Donald Trump spent a lot of time campaigning in Dearborn, Michigan last week.
Anti-Muslim + Anti-Arab Bias & Hatred
A woman in New York City who pepper sprayed a Muslim Uber driver is being charged with a hate crime.
It’s been two months since Israeli murdered American citizen Ayensur Eygi and neither President Biden nor Vice President Harris have called her family to share their condolences.
Combatting Pro-Israel Bias, Retaliation & Rights Suppression
